Academic family success

A four-generation Modern Woodmen family, the Joneses appreciate Modern Woodmen’s College Scholarship Program. “The program has blessed our family,” says Ann, who was a winner in 1981. Her son, Matthew, was a national winner in 2010. Daughter Michelle earned a $7,000 regional scholarship this year.

“Modern Woodmen has empowered [my brother and me] to carry out its vision of creating a better tomorrow,” says Michelle, a freshman at the University of Alabama-Birmingham. Both siblings (Matthew is a student at Auburn University in Auburn, Ala.) make a difference through campus and community volunteer programs.

Applications for 2014 are due Jan. 1. Search on “scholarships” at www.modern-woodmen.org to learn more.
