Member Tiane Gee, Racine, Wis., is relieved. She and her husband, Mike, had read about the dangers of radon gas, the second-leading cause of lung cancer in the U.S., according to the American Lung Association. Living in the Midwest, where radon is most often found, Tiane ordered Modern Woodmen’s Radon Test Kit.
 
“You may have the cleanest house in the world, but it doesn’t matter,” Tiane says. “It just depends on the area where you live.”
 
After finding radon levels in their basement to be three times what is considered normal, the family got a radon mitigation system. Tiane is thankful the test kit tipped them off to the problem. “It means a lot to know our kids’ health is now protected,” she says.
