When a Modern Woodmen member’s life insurance contract includes the Accelerated Benefits Rider and the member is diagnosed with a terminal illness, he or she can receive 75 percent of the death benefit, minus any outstanding loans, prior to death. 

The member can use the money to do whatever gives his or her family peace of mind, whether that means paying medical bills, enhancing quality of life or paying off a mortgage. The beneficiary receives the remainder of the death benefit upon death.
