The Modern Woodmen Magazine
The sadness of losing an infant or caring for an infant in poor health shouldn't be compounded by financial distress. Modern Woodmen's Newborn Benefit can help ease the financial burden.

Financial assistance

Members who qualify for the Newborn Benefit can receive $2,500 to help with medical or funeral costs if their newborn passes away.

Standard rate for life insurance
Also, parents of newborns may apply for $5,000 of life insurance to become effective on the child's 61st day of life. This insurance will be issued at standard rates, regardless of the child’s health.

Long-term benefits
If the family keeps the life insurance in force until the child is 16 years old, they may purchase an additional $5,000 of insurance at standard rates, regardless of the child's health. At age 21, the insured may purchase an additional $10,000 of coverage at standard rates, regardless of health.
