Through this community service activity, local chapters provide hands-on labor to repair and beautify structures or environments in their communities. Modern Woodmen provides $500 in funding to help members pay for these projects.
The funds and labor provided through the Good Neighbors activities are important in towns with small budgets for upkeep on ballpark facilities, local parks, war memorials and many other community facilities. Other projects like renovating homes and painting fences benefit members of the community who are in need, including the disabled, elderly and sick.
Creates a sense of pride
Even a small project can bring people together and awaken a sense of pride in the community. The chapter members who worked hard to make the project happen experience the greatest sense of satisfaction.
