Through interactive exercises, the Ecology Awareness Program provides an understanding of the part people play in the environment and the ecological impact of our actions. It helps lead young people to make informed choices and grow into responsible citizens. Since Modern Woodmen provides all materials for free, the program is easy to implement in learning environments.
Resources for children
The leader receives a comprehensive guidebook, filled with activity ideas and reproducible handouts. Students receive useful, take-home items to reinforce what they learn. Depending on the level of the program, these may include:

- Magnifying glasses
- Mini binoculars
- Environmental wheel chart
- Recycled pencils made from denim and retired U.S. currency
Who can use this program? Modern Woodmen members and nonmembers can use the Ecology Awareness Program for free! Ideal for children between preschool and junior high grade levels, it is used by youth organizations, like schools, scouts, churches, and park and recreation departments.
Modern Woodmen representatives donate Modern Woodmen youth educational programs to their local schools and/or youth groups. In parts of the country not serviced by Modern Woodmen, the programs may not be available.
