School Speech Contest
Youth Educational Programs are free educational classroom curriculum programs for school and youth groups. Since 1948, Modern Woodmen has offered these programs to help kids become safer, more responsible and more confident.

Open to everyone
Members and nonmembers can use Modern Woodmen Youth Educational Programs! This includes virtually any youth-oriented group, including public and private schools, home school associations, churches, YMCAs, park programs, day-care centers, before- and after-school programs, scout troops, and 4-H clubs.*

Easy to use
Youth Educational Programs are easy to implement. They're intended to make it easy for teachers and leaders to teach children valuable life lessons in a learning environment.

Program specifics
Here are the Youth Educational Programs that Modern Woodmen offers for classroom use.
Ecology Awareness Program
Through this program, children learn about environmental issues like trees, soil, endangered species and recycling.
Exercise and Nutrition Program
This Youth Educational Program provides information so kids can make healthy choices.
Financial Literacy Program
This new program lays the foundation for successful money management.
Patriotic Civics Program
This new program instills American pride by teaching lessons in civics and history.
Safety and Life Skills Program
This program stimulates children to think about safety as they study subjects including Internet safety, being home alone and fire safety.
School Speech Contest
This program provides a valuable personal and academic speaking experience, along with a chance to compete at a national level.**


*Modern Woodmen representatives donate Modern Woodmen Youth Educational Programs to their local schools and/or youth groups. In parts of the country not serviced by Modern Woodmen, the programs may not be available.


**The School Speech Contest can only be used by schools.
