Plant A Tree Quad Cities
Print
In just a few short hours, you can experience the feel-good benefits of volunteering. Modern Woodmen members and Quad Cities residents are invited to come to the historic Chippiannock Cemetery for a quick, easy volunteer opportunity. Bring family and friends (age 12 and over), and together we can easily showcase the great volunteer spirit in the area.

On Saturday, Sept. 20, from 8 a.m. to 12 p.m., volunteers are needed to clean Chippiannock Cemetery. More than 130 trees were lost in the recent storms, which makes a cleanup imperative.

On Saturday, Oct. 25, from 10 a.m. to 12 p.m., volunteers are needed to help plant trees at Chippiannock Cemetery. We hope to plant all 75 trees in one day, so a great deal of help will be needed.

Sign up to volunteer!

This volunteer opportunity is tied to Modern Woodmen's sponsorship of "Plant A Tree Quad Cities," which will donate up to 125 trees to local areas where trees were lost following storms on July 21. Following online voting, Chippiannock Cemetery at 12th Street and 29th Avenue in Rock Island was chosen to receive 75 trees.  Black Hawk State Historic Site and the John Deere Road corridor were each chosen to receive 25 trees.

Are you a Modern Woodmen member?  If so and you would like to plant a tree of your own, request a free tree seedling as part of Modern Woodmen's fraternal benefits.

If you have any questions, please contact the "Plant A Tree Quad Cities Registration Desk" at (309) 786-6481 ext. 7427.
