In the 1880s, the Statue of Liberty was unveiled in New York Harbor, South Dakota became a state and a new fraternal benefit society – Modern Woodmen of America – was founded in Lyons, Iowa.
A lot has changed in 125 years, but to celebrate its anniversary, the Rock Island-based financial services organization went back to its roots – service to the community.
“We may have a greater variety of products and newer technologies,” says Modern Woodmen President W. Kenny Massey, “but our focus continues to be improving the quality of life for families.”
Modern Woodmen commemorated the milestone by unveiling a new logo, dedicating a home built through Habitat for Humanity and announcing a nationwide food drive by members for their communities.
