1) General Promotion begins on Sept. 1, 2008, and ends on March 31, 2009.
2) To enter Complete an official online entry form. Maximum one entry per person/email address, per day. Participants will be asked to provide first and last name, email address, phone number, referring school/organization with its city and state, and association to the school. Participants will also be asked to answer several optional questions; however, these need not be answered in order to be eligible for the sweepstakes. Modern Woodmen of America (the sponsor) assumes no responsibility for lost, late or misdirected entries, or for any computer, online telephone or human error or technical malfunctions that may occur. All entries become the property of the sponsor and will not be returned. All contestant information shall be used solely by Modern Woodmen of America. No contestant information will be sold, shared or given away.
3) Prize Up to $10,000 worth of technology equipment (computers, digital cameras, projectors, etc.) for donation to the school or not-for-profit youth organization of the winner’s choice. Equipment is selected by the winner. The equipment selection must be approved by the sponsor. The order for the equipment will be placed by the sponsor. The sponsor will write the check payable to the vendor of the equipment, and the sponsor will send the check to the vendor. The check will not exceed $10,000, including shipping and any other expenses. Any expense above that amount will be the responsibility of the winner and recipient organization/school. The prize is not for any individual’s personal gain and is not taxable.
4) Winner selection A random drawing will be conducted on or about April 3, 2009. Odds of winning depend on the number of eligible entries received. To be eligible entrants must have a direct association with Modern Woodmen of America’s Youth Educational Programs. For the purpose of this contest, direct association is defined as: (1) The individual (teacher/youth leader) who orders the Modern Woodmen of America Youth Educational Program, (2) the parent of a participating child, or (3) other adult family member of a participating child. The authorized account holder of the email address and the entrant must be the same person. Authorized account holder is defined as the natural person who is assigned to an email address by an Internet access provider, online service provider or other organization (e.g., business or educational institution) that is responsible for assigning email addresses for the domain associated with the submitted email address. Potential winner may be requested to provide proof that the potential winner is the authorized account holder of the email address associated with the winning entry.
5) Eligibility Must be 18 to enter. This contest is open only to individuals associated with Modern Woodmen of America’s Youth Educational Programs. Entrants must be legal residents of the United States. Contest is void outside the United States and where prohibited by law. Employees of Modern Woodmen of America and their subsidiaries are not eligible to enter.
6) Notification The prize will be awarded and the winner notified by email and/or phone. All reasonable attempts will be made to contact the winner in order to claim prize. Winner forfeits prize if not claimed within two weeks of the drawing date. If a winner cannot accept the prize, then the prize will be forfeited and awarded to an alternate winner.
7) Accepting the prize The winner consents to use of name (along with school or organization), photographs and voice for editorial, advertising, promotional and publicity purposes without further compensation except where prohibited by law. Winner agrees to release, discharge and hold harmless Modern Woodmen of America, all media outlets and all participating contest affiliates from all claims or damages arising out of the acceptance, use, misuse or the possession of the prize received.
8) Use of Name Entrants further grant to Modern Woodmen of America the right to use their proper name and state online and in print or any other media, in connection with the contest. Acceptance of a prize constitutes permission for Modern Woodmen of America and its advertising and promotional agencies to use the winner’s name and likeness for advertising and promotional purposes without additional compensation unless prohibited by law. By entering, participants release and hold harmless Modern Woodmen of America, subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, employees and agents from any and all liability for any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising from or in connection with the contest or any prize won. Restrictions, conditions and limitations apply.
9) Internet Sponsor is not responsible for any problems or technical malfunction of any telephone network, computer equipment or online system.
10) General conditions Contest entrants agree to be bound by the terms of these official rules. The laws of the United States govern this contest. All federal, state and local laws and regulations apply. By entering, participants release and hold harmless the sponsor and their respective subsidiaries, affiliates, directors, officers, prize suppliers, employees and/or agents from any and all liability or any injuries, loss or damage of any kind arising or in connection with this contest or acceptance of use of any prize won.
