Print
As an American, you have a high chance of needing long-term care at some point in your life. Today the costs of long-term care average $40,000 to $50,000 per year or more. This expense can be financially devastating. Though we all hope not to use it, you can protect yourself and your loved ones with long-term care insurance.

What Is long-term care?
Long-term care, also known as help with daily living, was developed for people with chronic illnesses or disabilities who are unable to live independently. It can include medical care or just help with cooking and cleaning, depending on the needs and desires of the patient.

What does Long-Term Care Insurance cover?
Each long-term care insurance policy is different. Coverage options include:

  • Nursing home care
  • Home health care
  • Personal care at home
  • Assisted living facilities
  • Adult day care centers
