This kit contains a 2 1/8-inch square badge that features an adhesive strip on the back. It mounts almost anywhere, helping you watch for signs of potentially deadly carbon monoxide gas in your home.

The presence of carbon monoxide will change the detector's impregnated silica from its original red color to red/brown and then to gray/black as concentration levels increase.

Lab-test certified, the badge is designed to detect as little as 100 parts per million carbon monoxide gas at an approximate relative humidity range of 33 percent to 50 percent. If the humidity is very high, it can detect concentrations as low as 20 parts per million.

Once the kit's packaging is opened, the detector should be replaced every 90 days. It should be used in conjunction with, not as a replacement to, an electronic test. Modern Woodmen members can order up to four detector badges each year.
