This program includes projects and activities that teach kids about stranger danger, online safety, bullying and more. The Safety and Life Skills Program helps children become more aware of their surroundings. Since all materials are provided for free from Modern Woodmen, the program is easy to implement.


Who can use this program?

Modern Woodmen members and nonmembers can use the Safety and Life Skills Program for free. Designed for children between preschool and eighth grade, it may be used by youth organizations, such as schools, scouts, churches and parks.

Offered in three levels

Level I – Preschool to 2nd grade
Some of the topics include stranger danger, fire safety and hand washing

Level II – 3rd grade to 5th grade
Some of the topics include Internet safety, weather safety and bullying

Level III – 6th grade to 8th grade
Some of the topics include relationship skills, diversity tolerance and money management

Take-home items
After the program, participants take home tools to reinforce everything they learn. Depending on the program, these may include:

  • Child Identification Kit
  • Pencil
  • Glow-in-the-dark safety magnet
  • “Teen’s Guide to Being Wise About Money” slide guide

Modern Woodmen representatives donate Modern Woodmen Youth Educational Programs to their local schools and/or youth groups. In parts of the country not serviced by Modern Woodmen, the programs may not be available.
